Brian Baumgartner Bio, Life and Career:

Brian Baumgartner is a well-known American actor who was born on November 29th, 1972. The role of Kevin Malone, which he played on the NBC sitcom The Office, brought him the most fame (2005–2013). Baumgartner was conceived in Atlanta, Georgia, where he received his education at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School. He graduated from The Westminster Schools in 1991, making him a graduate one year ahead of his co-star on The Office, Ed Helms, who received his degree in 1992. Baumgartner participated in competitive speaking events and theatre while he was a student at The Westminster School. During his senior year, he advanced all the way to the national finals. Baumgartner also attended Northwestern University’s National High School Institute, where he concentrated on theatre while he was there.

This took place in the summer between Baumgartner’s junior and senior years of high school. After that, he continued his education at Southern Methodist University, where he earned a degree in drama with a concentration in 1995. After that, he relocated to Los Angeles and went on to become the Artistic Director of Hidden Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There, he won several accolades for his playing and artistic prowess, and he eventually moved to Los Angeles. Later on, Baumgartner gave performances in the surrounding area at theatres such as the Guthrie Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Children’s Theater Company, and Theatre de la Jeune Lune.

Baumgartner has appeared as a guest star in the episodes of Jake in Progress, Arrested Development, and Everwood. On the show Last Comic Standing, he and his co-star from The Office, Kate Flannery, played the role of celebrity talent scouts, and in the film License to Wed, he co-starred alongside Robin Williams, Mandy Moore, and John Krasinski. Baumgartner was awarded the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Broadband Program – Comedy in June 2007 for his work on The Office: The Accountants webisodes, which was nominated for the award.

Angela Kinsey and Oscar Nunez, two of his co-stars, also received awards alongside him. Additionally, he was featured in the music video for “Time Machine” by Ingrid Michaelson. Baumgartner has a lot of experience playing golf.  An Oral History of The Office was a podcast that he presented and executive produced for Spotify in the year 2020. The programme consisted of interviews with his co-stars from The Office. In 2021, he was the host of a podcast for iHeart called “The Office Deep Dive with Brian Baumgartner,” which he also executive produced. The interviews with the cast and crew of The Office that were initially published in An Oral History of The Office are presented in their entirety and in great depth in this podcast.

American actor Brian Baumgartner is perhaps best recognised for his role as Kevin Malone on the situational comedy television series ‘The Office,’ which airs on the NBC network. At the age of 13, Baumgartner suffered a leg injury that prevented him from pursuing his dream of being a baseball player. As a result, he turned his focus to performing arts instead of sports. After polishing his skills in a number of different regional theatres, he relocated to Los Angeles in 2003 in the hopes of securing roles in movies and on television.

Four years later, he was one of the cast members of a web series called “The Office: The Accountants,” which is a spin-off of the iconic television comedy “The Office.” Together, they won a Daytime Emmy Award for their work on the series. In addition to making guest appearances on a number of other television series, Brian Baumgartner has also appeared in minor roles in a number of movies, including “License to Wed,” “Four Christmases,” “Into Temptation,” “Dirty Girl,” and “Ordinary World.” In the year 2014, he had an appearance in the music video for “Time Machine” by singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson.

Baumgartner’s enthusiasm for the game of baseball was so strong that he considered turning it into a profession at one point. Unfortunately, when he was just 13 years old, he sustained a terrible leg injury, which put an end to any hopes he had of playing baseball professionally. During his time at the “National High School Institute at Northwestern University” (a summer camp), where he was instructed in the intricacies of acting, he came to the realisation that acting was his true calling. He attended “The Westminster Schools,” from where he received his diploma in the year 1991. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, from which he graduated in 1995. Southern Methodist University is located in Texas (BFA).

After that, he began to hone his abilities by appearing in productions at a number of regional companies, including “The Guthrie Theater,” “Children’s Theater Company,” “Berkeley Repertory Theatre,” and “Theatre de la Jeune Lune.” At the same time, he served as the artistic director at the ‘Hidden Theatre’ in Minneapolis. During his tenure there, he was presented with a number of accolades for both his performance and his artistic quality. In the romantic comedy film ‘Herman, USA,’ which was directed by Bill Semans and marked the actor’s debut in the film industry, he was cast in the role of Roger. Before relocating to Los Angeles in 2003, he supplemented his income by working as a paralegal in order to make ends meet.
